Anatomy of a Somatosphere post

Thanks to everyone who participated in our readership survey last month.  One of the things that became immediately clear upon reading the responses was that many of our readers are not aware of all the features already available in each post.

For example, you can easily download a pdf version of any Somatosphere post for printing, reading, or archiving in your favorite publication management application.  Each post has a set of three tabs on the lower left-hand side that float along as you scroll down:

The upper tab opens to a menu of options for sharing the post on social media; the middle tab prints the post; and the bottom tab automatically produces a pdf version of the post.  We’re going to work on improving the lay-out and design of the pdfs in the near future, but the current version does the job well enough.

Each Somatosphere post also includes a feature which generates citations for the post in four commonly used formats.  You can find it at the very bottom of the post, under the “Similar posts” box:

Click “[view academic citations]” and you’ll have citations for the post in AMA, APA, Chicago, Harvard, and MLA formats:

We hope that you find these features useful and let us know if there is any way that we can improve them.
